What about them?

· opinion, politics

The other day when I was reading the newspaper, I came across this wonderful picture.

Children Mining

Right and wrong, black and white, day and night. These are clear distinctions. They exist only for the well off, the rich, if you’re reading this then for you too. But for those who dwell in the dark, the poor, the down trodden, there is no black nor white, only grey, no day nor night only the abyss, no right nor wrong, only consequence.

Idealism, righteousness, democracy, secularism, equality, these are meaningless buzz words created by the rich and powerful to keep themselves busy, thereby providing them with a good enough reason to forget or ignore about the ones that truly matter, the downtrodden.

What about them? What about the children dying? What about those starving beings? Can’t we even shed a tear?

I am not denying that no one has ever made an attempt to give voice to the voiceless. They have and they were successful to an extent. But the major issue was politics. All their ideas were political and politics is simply not the way. The thing with politics and ideas is that they are easily misconstrued, and that is for certain, for once the ideologist is dead, anyone is free to interpret it however they want. I personally want no truck with politics so I’ll just leave it at that.

The thing is, I can see it with my own bare eyes, you can too, yet we don’t do anything about it. Remember, to do nothing is to kill.

In an era where humans are willing to fight for animals and animal rights, when will we ever stand up for ourselves and our people? Being human is being inane.
